Who we are
At FBC Massillon, we believe faith should feel like home. Whether you're new to church or have been walking with Christ for years, we welcome you into a community that values authenticity, compassion, and a shared journey toward spiritual growth. Our beliefs shape everything we do, from worship to outreach, and our mission guides us as we seek to live out God’s love in a real and relevant way.

Below, you'll find a look at what grounds us in our faith and where we feel God is calling us as a church family.
Our calling
We seek to be a Biblical Community that attests to the truths found in the Holy Word of God and to be faithful witnesses of those truths to both the world and our local community, through both word and conduct.
Vision Statement
The vision of First Baptist Church is to show Grace and Kindness
to all people through Jesus Christ.
Mission
At First Baptist Church, our mission is two-fold: to reach others through kindness and to help followers of Jesus grow through grace. Romans 2:4 reminds us that it’s God’s kindness that leads people to repentance, and we believe we’re called to reflect that same kindness to those around us. We also believe that transformation happens through participation. That’s why we use the word GRACE to describe what we call Minimal Viable Involvement, encouraging every member to actively engage in five key areas of church life that help us grow in faith, community, and purpose.

Giving
Giving supports the mission and ministry of the local church. It’s not just about finances, it’s about investing in what God is doing through His people. When we give faithfully and generously, we help fuel outreach, discipleship, worship, and care both within our church family and in the community beyond.
Relationships
We believe no one should walk through life alone. That’s why we encourage everyone to be connected to a small group. These groups are where deep friendships are formed, faith is strengthened, and life’s joys and struggles are shared. It’s in relationship with others that we grow and are encouraged to keep following Jesus.
Attendance
Regular worship attendance matters. We gather together not just out of routine, but to encounter God, encourage one another, and be reminded of the bigger story we’re part of. Whether it’s Sunday services, special events, or church-wide gatherings, being present builds up both the individual and the whole body of Christ.
community
We’re not a church that stays inside our walls. We actively seek ways to serve and connect with the people around us. From volunteering locally to supporting schools, shelters, or city events, we believe community engagement is one of the most powerful ways to live out the love of Christ.
Evangelism
We are called to share the hope we’ve found in Jesus, and we believe everyone can play a part. Whether it’s through ARK (Acts of Random Kindness), inviting someone to church, or simply sharing your story, we are a church that values outreach and lives on mission. Evangelism isn’t reserved for a few; it’s a way of life we’re all invited into.
