ARK OUTREACH
ARK
Who says no to a Coke on a hot day? Or a warm coffee on a chilly day? Especially by someone who is smiling, happy, and having fun. Servant Evangelism wins the heart before it confronts the mind. A small act of kindness nudges a person closer to God, often profoundly, as it bypasses one's mental defenses. The average Christ-follower is willing to hand a stranger a can of cold Coke on a hot day (low risk). Grace is seen in the typical reaction. “Oh, thank you!” “This is so nice!” “I can’t believe this is for free!” And “Why are you doing this?”

Serving
Kindness builds the bridge for a person to receive a touch of love from God. It is simple, practical, effective, inexpensive, and fun! We invite the people of First Baptist Church to live a Jesus-style life, one of noticing and responding to those around us with kindness, love, and generosity.
What is Servant Evangelism?
Servant Evangelism, simply put, is small things done with great love that will change the world. We want to show Massillon God’s love in practical ways.

Servant evangelism is scriptural, rooted in Jesus’ commands to love our neighbor (Matthew 22:39) and to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19–20), as we share His love through simple, compassionate actions. It is effective because it’s authentic and non-threatening—often, a single act of kindness can open hearts and reflect the character of God in a powerful way. This approach is also radical, following the example of Jesus, who came to serve rather than be served, even humbling Himself to wash His disciples’ feet—and in John 14:14, He calls us to do the same. It is visible, making Christ’s love seen and felt in everyday life, as our joy and service often lead others to ask questions and open the door to deeper conversations. Most importantly, it is easy—you don’t need to be a Bible expert to show God’s love. Anyone can practice servant evangelism simply by offering small, meaningful acts that reflect the heart of Christ.

Our Core Five
At FBC Massillon, we focus our ministry around five key areas that help us live out our mission and make an impact in our church and community.
LEGACY PROJECT
The Legacy Project of Stark is dedicated to transforming communities and impacting lives through the power of high-quality mentorship opportunities, leadership development, and intentional partnerships. They aim to place identified Stark County students in age-appropriate, high-quality mentorship programs in collaboration with their local school districts and community partners. At FBC, we support Legacy Project financially and encourage anyone to sign up and be a mentor in the Massillon schools.

The Family Living Center/CommQuest

The Family Living Center (FLC) is a homeless shelter serving families with children, households without children, and single women. We provide safe, temporary housing, basic needs, and access to community resources to help you find stable housing and become self-sufficient. FBC Massillon has a long and special history with the Family Living Center.
tHE SALVATION ARMY
We support the work of the Salvation Army in Massillon at Christmastime and throughout the year. Through their local programs and outreach, the Salvation Army provides practical help, encouragement, and hope to individuals and families in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with them as they serve our neighbors in Massillon.

THE REESES
Stacy and Tim Reese served in Santiago de Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, working with Iglesias Bautistas de República Dominicana (IBAREDO), the Baptist Churches of the Dominican Republic, to support Haitian and Dominican communities through discipleship, small groups, church leadership development, and economic and community development. They served as missionaries with International Ministries beginning in 2019.
